Photo Galleries / 108 in 2002 March 20 2002In India, yogis celebrate the coming of Spring by doing 108 (why 108?) sun salutations (Surya Namaskar A) at the time of the equinox. On Wednesday morning, March 20th, we did 108 sun salutations in a row to welcome Spring. Connie Habash chanted through every breath of every salutation (12 chants per salutation- see below). Her wonderful voice gave a peaceful, spiritual rythm to the event. Doing the salutes became a meditative experience, so much so that for many of the participants the hour and a half felt like barely 20 minutes. It was an unforgettable experience. Also check out last
