Guruji 2002 World Tour in San Francisco
Beginning August 15 2002, Pattabhi Jois (also known as Guruji by his
students) undertook a 3 month "last" world tour. It consisted
of 12 stops starting with London and ending with Sidney. All the stops
were one week visits (five days of teaching) with the exception of New
York (three weeks because Guruji and his family love New York).
The photos below were taken during the first of the two daily sessions
at the Regency in San Francisco, which started at 6 in the morning. There
were more than 200 dedicated yogis practicing. There was a good turn out
from the YiY ashtanga community (see
photo).
